The Ivie carries out a new edition of Migration in the Valencian Region
The database includes data from Spain and an international comparison of the European Union

The Ivie has carried out a new edition of Migration in the Valencian Region sponsored by the Bancaja Foundation. The extended database provides existing statistics as well a comprehensive view of the most relevant profiles of immigration in the Valencian Region and Spain as a whole, and the evolution over time of certain aspects.

The Analysis has been updated to December 2010 with the most current information available (more than 35 statistical sources). Among the new developments included in this year's edition are:

  • Data on foreign households regarding environmental issues
  • Data on asylum of foreigners
  • Higher education of the foreign population in Valencian universities
  • Statistics on minors and a set of data within the international comparison of the European Union
  • International comparison of the percentage of people who consider immigration as an important factor to strengthen the European Union in the future.
  • Reasons for living in Spain for at least three months.
  • Emigration rates of highly qualified persons to OECD countries by main countries of origin.
The number of Valencian municipalities in which census data are provided has also been extended. In addition, the data summary (in Spanish) includes the main results obtained in Valencia and Spain as a whole.
