The Spanish Food and Drink Federation (FIAB) presents its 2014 Annual Report on the Food and Drink Industry, prepared by the Ivie
In 2014, the food and drink industry production grew 3.8% in real terms, almost double than the manufacturing industry. The number of affiliates to the Social Security in this industry grew 1.95%. Furthermore, 19.7% of Spaniards’ shopping basket is made up of food and beverages, which represents an increase of 3.7% compared to 2013.
These are some of the results found in the 2014 Annual Economic Report of the Spanish Food and Drink Federation (FIAB). This report, directed by Joaquín Maudos, Professor at the University of Valencia and Ivie Research Deputy Director, is the result of a joint-research collaboration agreement with FIAB and Cajamar to improve decision making and visibility of the sector.
