The European Commission publishes 'Europe's Digital Progress Report 2016' with information from Predict database elaborated by Ivie
The "Europe's Digital Progress Report 2016", published by the European Commission, analyzes the progress made in terms of digitization by EU Member States, providing an important feedback loop for policy-making at EU level.
Among the subjects addressed are: the evolution of broadband markets, digital inclusion and skills, use of internet services by citizens, integration of digital technology, digital public services and ICT sector and its performance in R&D and Horizon 2020 Research projects.
The reference data is based on the PREDICT 2016: An Analysis of ICT R&D - EU and Beyond Report (forthcoming), carried out by the Joint Research Centre, Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS), with the collaboration of the Ivie under the European PREDICT (Prospective Insights on R&D in ICT) project. This report offers a detailed analysis of the sectors related to information and communication technologies (ICT) in the European Union, comparable with other twelve countries in terms of value added, employment, productivity and R&D. The report has been prepared with official data from Eurostat, OECD and National Statistical Institutes and covers the period 2006-2013, with information until 2014 for public R&D funding.
